Learn to sew your own regency corset! This workshop is perfect for experienced costume enthusiasts.
Space is limited: 7 spots available.
Supplies Provided: Fabric (for outer layer, lining, and binding), boning, busk, and pattern making supplies
Students will provide: Assorted needles (for sewing, embroidery, and a large tapestry needle), awl, corset lacing, embroidery floss, paper and pencil (for note taking), pins, ruler, scissors, tape measure, thread, and white wool yarn (for cording).
Workshop Runs:
Friday: 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
A continental breakfast and a light lunch (salad & sandwiches) will be provided both Saturday and Sunday. Students may bring their own beverages and snacks if desired.
Students should wear clothing suitable for fitting the corset, such as an early 19th century chemise, underpetticoat, and short gown, or a t-shirt and jeans if preferred.
Hand sewing is encouraged, however, sewing machines will not be turned away.
