Led by costumed guides, guests will tour the fort by lantern light, witness a nighttime musket demonstration, and experience the historic battlefield as soldiers did during the War of 1812.

Digging into the Past

August 3, 2024 | 10am-2pm

Ages 8-18 | $15 Per Student

Explore the links between history and archeology! Students will participate in mock excavations, hands on activity stations, themed presentations, and more! The staff at Fort Meigs has teamed up with professional archeologists from the University of Michigan to design this one-of-a-kind archeology program. To register please call 419-874-4121.

Join us this August 24-25 for our 60 years war for Ohio: American Revolution event! Explore an important chapter in the long fight for the Ohio Country. Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the Revolution in this exciting living history event featuring;

Military & battle demonstrations, an interactive ambush, hands on activities for kids, live music – fife and drum concerts, colonial Farming, a historic tavern, army bread & baking, coffee in the colonies, textile production and the 18th century duel.

Second Sunday Tabletop Games

Next Second Sunday Gaming Day: July 14, 2024 | 1:00-4:00 p.m.

We offer activities for the whole family. Easy, roll the dice games to help the younger children with their counting and sportsmanship skills. Additionally, for the older kids and adults, there will be several historical miniatures games to teach critical thinking skills while having some fun.
Historical games this month;
The Toledo War of 1835 The dispute over the border between the State of Ohio and the Territory of Michigan erupts into violence.15mm. figures, Ages 10+ Rules taught.
Medieval Conflict Close Combat with Axe and Sword.30mm. figures Ages 10+ Rules taught.
The War of 1812 British and American Infantry meet on the Field of Battle. This game is designed for players new to historical miniatures. 54mm. plastic soldiers, Ages 10+ Rules taught.
No experience with tabletop gaming is necessary.
This event is free to attend with regular admission.
